Elk Woman SculptureHere's an alabaster sculpture by Kathy Whitman (Elk Woman). Mounted on a hardwood base, a carved alabaster bison is standing on a rock with a woman's face carved below him. Signed:
Elk Woman (c) '87
plus a feather symbol. Overall measurement is approximately 6" x 6" x 3".
Kathy Whitman-Elk Woman comes from the Mandan-Hidatsa-Arikara Nation, on the Fort Berthold Reservation in North Dakota along the Missouri River.
The previous owner commissioned this directly from the sculptor and purchased it through the Turquoise Tortoise Gallery in Sedona, Arizona in December 1987.
