Back in the eighties we met Alvin Marshall at a gallery where we become friendly with the owner. We spoke with Alvin about creating a piece of sculpture for us. We gave him a deposit and he said he would make something just for us. He said he was going back to his home on the reservation in the four corners area. After some time we never heard from him. Just figured we were never getting anything from him. Through people we knew we were able to contact him. Almost a year later the sculpture showed up with no warning. There was a note included apologizing for forgetting. Additionally he said we didn't owe him the balance. I keep track of his work over the years. I still think this is the best piece he has ever done. I have reduced the original listing price by several hundred dollars because I am hoping to sell before christmas.
