    Description

    Older Cree moose hide and rabbit fur mitts. These were part of a collection I procured from 1970 to 2000 at which time I stopped collecting and started enjoying them in display cases. They are 15" long and 5 1/2" wide. They are sturdy moose hide with fleece [?] on the inside of hand area and rabbit fur on the gauntlet area and the entire back of the mitts. The rabbit fur is very soft. The fur has come away from the moose hide on the left mitt under the thumb area [see pic.]. They are in great shape otherwise. They have never been worn since I have owned them--they were for display only.
