    Description

SALE  The miniature plate (circa 1990) is painted with the mimbres design of a rabbit  signed B L  Cerno, Acoma, New Mexico. The plates is from my collection..there are 1 pinpoint 'chip' on the face which I believe originate in the firing process, no rim chips.  Brenda Cerno was born May 3, 1959, the daughter of Daisy and Stan Leon. She is a talented AcomaPueblo pottery artist of 6 decades, specializing in animal motifs with fine line and geometric accents. Her pottery is always clean and smooth.
Thepottery of Acoma is strongly recognized for fluted rims, thin walls andgeometric design. Potters of the pueblo implement similar techniques found inthe local region, from collecting of the clay material from limited sources, forming the vessel for specific use, decorating with patterns and design byhand, to firing the pot at high temperature.
