    Description

This 13" tall Zuni Warrior wood sculpture is by Zuni carver Dwight Mahooty. It does not appear to be made from traditional cottonwood tree root as it is a bit too heavy. It could be aspen, which is often used by non-Hopi carvers The Warrior can appear in a number of different colors but only those signifying the directions are traditional. It has multiple names but the traditional Zuni name is Salimopaiyaka or Talamochovi because of its long snout. The sculpture, purchased directly from the artist, is signed on the bottom and the artist's bio and significance of the piece are included with purchase. Ships fully insured. Combined shipping available for multiple items. Contact us for details.
